Ashley Taylor-Dawson and Jacob Roberts (Hollyoaks), Akan Halsall (Coronation Street) and Anthony Quinlan (Emmerdale) are among those gearing up to take on the Midcounties team as part of a special Jet2 TV All Stars side.
The match will be played at Rushall Olympic Football Club in Walsall on August 26.
Proceeds will go towards local charities including Street Teams, Alzheimer’s support groups ALZ Cafe and Monthly Alzheimer Support Evenings, and blindness and sight light support centre Beacon Vision.
Community groups Codsall Village Hall and Rushall Football Club itself will also benefit.
Fans will be able to meet the celeb team after the match, while prizes in the charity raffle include a Jet2 holiday or return flights to any European destination or City break.
The event is part of Midcounties’ regional communities strategy. Group general manager Alistair Rowland said it was the first time the co-operative had taken on such a challenge.
“Teaming up with 12 well-known faces from some of the nation’s favourite soaps is a great way of raising awareness and much-needed funding for the many charity partners we support,” he said.
“We’re committed to supporting vulnerable members of the community with exciting and new fundraising initiatives and are hoping to raise thousands of pounds through ticket sales.
“These funds will help each of the charities to continue their work and support vulnerable people in the area.”
Tickets are available here or from selected Midcounties stores. Gates will open at midday with the game kicking off at 2pm.
