The operator hopes the programme will offer an alternative to dynamic packaging, which generally means clients have to pay the airfare element or the whole amount up front.
Monarch’s sales director Gary Anslow said: “We are delighted to be sending our first dedicated city breaks brochure out to the trade next week. Our range of city destinations continues to grow and the feedback from agents has been great in terms of price and product.
“City breaks are often dynamically packaged, which generally requires the customer to pay at least the full airfare upfront. However booking a fully protected package through Monarch with a £59 deposit is a great solution for the agent and the customer. The new brochure should drive even greater awareness and sales”.
Cities in the new programme include Rome, Lisbon and Barcelona plus Zagreb, Porto and Valencia, Monarch’s new destinations introduced this summer. The lead-in price is £115pp for two nights’ bed and breakfast in Porto in June, travelling from Luton.
All packages can be accessed via the operator’s trade portal monarchagents.co.uk.
