The brand’s “Free To Be You. Proud To Be You. Safe To Be You” campaign has run on ITV’s online video-on-demand service ITV Hub and targeted viewers living within an hour of Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester airports.
Chillimix, founded by TTG 30 Under 30 alumnus David McDonald, only sells holidays to LGBT+-friendly countries and destinations which allow customers “to be free to be themselves”.
“The targeting has proved to be really successful,” said McDonald, while Scott Tyrer, Chillimix’s head of operations, said it was important the company “used real people” in the advert and not models.
“The essence of Chillimix had to shine through and so it was incredibly important that we represented the entire LGBT+ community with real people,” said Tyrer, explaining how Chillimix staff, their friends and friends of friends were recruited to appear in the video.
Nicky Yates, head of trade at Chillimix, added: “The advertisement and supportive social media campaign have absolutely increased the demand from UK trade. Everyone wants to know about Chillimix and it’s just incredible.”
