The escorted touring specialist said its four-strong team has returned to on-the-road duties after the government’s easing of working-from-home advice and due to an “anticipated increase” in demand after testing requirement’s were relaxed on Monday (24 January).
Newmarket’s team consists of Sas Rowbotham, covering the Midlands, Wales and the South West; Gemma Walker in the North of England and the Isle of Man; Amy Burt supporting agents in Scotland and Northern Ireland; and Stuart Cowell, based in East Anglia and the South East and South of England.
Each BDM will promote the operator’s new brochures and offer training and selling tips for its 18 new tours.
Newmarket is also currently offering agents a saving of up to 10% across its portfolio during the “Reconnect Reimagine Rediscover” campaign.
Head of trade sales Richard Forde said: “For the team it has been a stop-start return after furlough, but we are confident they will now be back on the road permanently for 2022.
“Last week we stated how important our travel agents are – now more than ever – so I’m delighted they are back on the road, as we’ve all missed their energy and enthusiasm.”
Forde said his team were “ready to go” having recently taken part in their first consumer show of the year with Fred Olsen Travel.
He added: “We felt it was the right thing to do keeping everyone working from home in January, but now this is a timely return, with the new brochure, new agent exclusive offer and the official easing of restrictions too.”
