Greece specialist Olympic Holidays has pledged its support to help the country recover in the wake of devastating wildfires which have killed around 80 people.
Through its Children’s Charity Fund, the operator will help Greek-based charity Desmos.org which is helping to meet the immediate needs of those affected after the blazes which tore through parts of the country’s Attica region this week.
The organisation is providing food, hygiene products, water and clothing to those in need and now Olympic Holidays’ customers can give their support, by adding a £1 donation to their booking fee which will be matched by the operator.
Money raised will go directly to Desmos.org’s GoFundMe page.
Greek authorities are still looking for dozens of people missing as a result of the wildfires with at least 80 confirmed to have died.
The fire is thought to be the deadliest on record in Greece.
Italy, Germany, Poland and France have all sent help in the form of search aircraft, vehicles and firefighters, while Spain, Turkey, and Cyprus have also offered assistance.
