On the Beach has finally revealed the full details of its long-expected boardroom shake-up.
The OTA announced in May non-executive chairman of the board Richard Segal was to leave the business.
He will be succeeded by senior independent director Lee Ginsberg, who will in turn be succeeded by non-executive director David Kelly.
On Tuesday (July 3), On The Beach announced Elaine O’Donnell has been appointed to the board as non-executive director and chair of the group’s audit committee.
Chartered account O’Donnell, a specialist in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, takes on the role alongside a number of ongoing boardroom commitments.
She is a non-executive director and soon-to-be chair of audit committee at Findel Plc, she chairs Games Workshop Group’s remuneration and nomination committee and chairs the board of the Merseyside Special Investment Fund.
Simon Cooper, On the Beach chief executive, said O’Donnell’s wealth of experience across a range of businesses and expertise in mergers and acquisitions would be of enormous benefit to the group’s “strategic objectives” and efforts to grow the business.
Cooper added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Segal for his valuable contribution to On the Beach during his five year tenure, during which time the Group has undergone significant growth and development as both a private and listed business.
“The board expresses its deep gratitude for his outstanding guidance and contribution during that time and wishes him well in the future.”
Segal’s departure was revealed as On the Beach announced its H1 financials for the six months to March 31.
While O’Donnell will take up her role immediately, the full board and committee changes will take effect from September 3.
Segal, who joined the board in October 2013, will continue in his role as non-executive director until September 28 “to ensure a seamless and orderly handover”.
Ginsberg, who has held the role of senior independent director since 2015, will chair the board and nomination committee while Kelly, appointed non-executive director in 2015, will become senior independent director.
