Speaking during the 2022 Clia Conference onboard the line’s Iona on Saturday (21 May), president Paul Ludlow said the past few weeks have "definitely been strong".
"Last week we had our biggest booking week for newcomers since wave 2020," he told delegates. "We have all lived in the pandemic for the last few years, but that haven’t dented the appetite for people who want to come on our holidays.
"We have built the industry over the past few years, we have told people about how great it is, and the last couple of years hasn’t derailed that, so we need to keep going and keep welcoming more and more new guests on to our ships."
Ludlow said "week-on-week it seems to be getting busier and busier", despite this year’s peak booking period not being "what we wished it to be".
"But now as we’re into June, which often might be a slightly quieter period, we’re seeing now volumes that are akin to wave," he added.
"I think we’re going to see the booking trends be a little messy for while, but they undoubtedly will settle down, but right now there is still a really clear demand for cruise."
