US states might claim to be defying the predicted “Trump Slump” in visitor numbers, but it seems the president’s hotels haven’t managed to get away so lightly.

New research has highlighted the negative impact Trump’s presidency has had on his business empire, with reports suggesting average room rates have fallen by up to 63% at all but one of his 13 hotels.

The worst hit hotel is thought to be Trump Las Vegas according to The Telegraph. Analysis by FairFX showed that a standard double room at the hotel in January 2017 prior to Trump’s inauguration was priced at £637 - one year on, a two-night break in January is on offer for £237.
