Regent Seven Seas Cruises has become the latest line to resume voyages, with its first trip departing from Southampton.
The upmarket line’s new ship, Seven Seas Splendor, is currently sailing around the UK on its first itinerary since March 2020 – the ship is also believed to be the first to carry international travellers on a UK cruise in the past 18 months.
Regent’s chief executive Jason Montague said: “This cruise represents yet another huge step forward as we return to luxury travel. I am so excited for our guests who have waited patiently, and for our crew and team members across our global offices who have worked so hard to get to this moment.”
Regent has resumed operations on Splendor with 100% vaccination against Covid-19 of all guests and crew.
The line, part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, will slowly return its ships to service over the next five months, with Seven Seas Explorer set to resume in October, followed by Seven Seas Mariner in December, Seven Seas Navigator in January 2022 and finally Seven Seas Voyager in February 2022.
