An official handover event for Venture, the first of two new-build expedition vessels for the ultra-luxury brand, was held at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa.
Built to Polar Class 6 standards, Venture will feature 132 oceanfront veranda suites, as well as two submarines and equipment such as sea kayaks, Zodiac boats and e-bikes.
A 26-person team of scientists, scholars, naturalists will help offer the line’s “widest range of expedition activities”.
The ship’s maiden voyage will depart from Tromso in Norway on 27 July.
Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz called the handover ceremony “incredibly special” as he thanked the Mariotti shipyard team and Venture’s designer Adam Tihany.
“Seabourn Venture will raise the bar in ultra-luxury expedition travel, and we look forward to introducing her to the world as she sets sail to explore remote destinations from the polar regions in the Arctic to the southernmost continent of Antarctica,” added Leibowitz.
