TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies 2022, in association with Visit Florida, is the seventh annual search for the best retailers in the UK and Ireland.

There was particular success for the Travel Village Group, shortlisted in four categories, and Designer Travel in Ramsbottom, shortlisted in three categories.

High street miniples Triangle Travel, Millington Travel, Spear Travels and Oasis Travel all have two of their branches in the final.

There are three places on the shortlist for Barrhead Travel and no fewer than five for Hays Travel.

In the next stage, a TTG journalist and sponsor partners will be hitting the road to visit each of the regional finalists in-person in late January/early February, while each of the nationwide finalists will be interviewed by video-call to find out more about their activity over the past year.

The shortlist was compiled by a wide-ranging panel of tour operators, cruise lines, airlines, ancillary providers and GDSs, who rated agencies they have worked with recently, based on those agencies’ customer service, expertise, innovation and team culture.

Group editor Pippa Jacks said: "With travel agencies across the UK & Ireland proving their worth like never before over the last year, our Top 50 programme will recognise the extraordinary customer service and expertise they have demonstrated, as well as their innovation, resilience and determination to survive.

"We hope earning a place on the shortlist will give a welcome boost to agency teams across the country as they continue to battle incredible challenges, and our journalist team can’t wait to visit and interview every one of our finalists to hear exactly how they’ve innovated and adapted over the last year."

Every shortlisted agency receives a complimentary invite to the ceremony, taking place on 24 March at the Vox in Birmingham.

The category champions in each of the 12 regional and 8 nationwide categories will also be invited on the TTG Top 50 Champions Trip to Florida in 2022, with more details to be announced soon.

Four special categories, covering customer service, community efforts, back-office heroes and contribution to the industry, will be announced later this week.
