The new programme brings the total number of destinations in Silversea’s portfolio to more than 900, with 25 new calls of port added, including destinations such as such as Boa Vista in Cape Verde, Fanjove Island off the coast of Tanzania and the town of Hermanus in South Africa’s Western Cape.
Eleven ships in the fleet will embark on the new sailings, with additional voyages onboard Silver Endeavour to be announced soon, the line said.
The new collection also includes Silver Ray, which will launch in summer 2024 as the line’s second Nova-class ship.
The ship will begin its inaugural season in May 2024 in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean., sailing a series of summer and autumn voyages, ranging from seven to 12 days from the Atlantic Isles to the Greek Isles.
In December 2024, Silver Ray will cross the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale to sail Caribbean and Central America itineraries. It will then sail a circumnavigation of South America as well as an Amazon River cruise before returning to Fort Lauderdale for a transatlantic crossing back to Europe, departing in April 2025.
The line added the launch of Silver Ray, which will use a trio of power sources including a fuel cell system, battery technology and dual fuel engines that use liquefied natural gas as the main fuel, would “strengthen its commitment to sustainability”.
Other new itineraries include an 18-day Silver Cloud voyage in April 2024, exploring East Africa’s Indian Ocean islands, offering the chance to discover the coastal fishing culture of Madagascar’s semi-nomadic Vezo people as well as the biodiversity of Madagascar’s Kirindy Forest Reserve, and the ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani—a Unesco World Heritage site in Tanzania.
Elsewhere, Silversea features 13 voyages to 59 destinations in the South Pacific Islands, including Hawaii and French Polynesia. New programmes include a visit to Fakarava – an atoll in the west of the Tuamotu group in French Polynesia. Silver Cloud’s expedition voyages will also “explore the cultures and secluded shores” of Melanesia, Micronesia and Easter Island, the line said.
Meanwhile Silversea will offer 25 departures for Australia and New Zealand – its largest-ever programme in the region. It will also feature inaugural seasons for Silver Nova in Australia and Silver Cloud in The Kimberley.
Conrad Combrink, senior vice president of expeditions, destination and itinerary management at Silversea said the 2024-25 programme was Silversea’s “largest itinerary collection to date”.
He added: “With 341 itineraries unlocking both Polar Regions, the South Pacific, Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Galapagos, and so much more, Silversea has once again demonstrated its destination leadership, immersing curious travellers into the world in a way that only we can.”
