Tui’s commercial and business development director, an insurance expert, a PR specialist and a panel of lawyers are among speakers confirmed for the latest TTG online seminar.
Restart Travel: Holidays are Go!, sponsored by Siren Comms, will take place on Thursday (9 July) afternoon, exploring what advice agents and operators should be offering their customers about the new rules, whether they’re enough to inspire confidence in the market and what exactly holidays in this post-Covid era will look like.
The seminar will begin with a session featuring Jeff Rush, founder of Rush Insurance, Farina Azam, partner, Kemp Little and Joanna Kolatsis, founder of Themis Advisory, exploring the legal and insurance implications of the government’s new traffic light/air bridge system.
Following this travel agents including Joanne Dooey, owner of Love To Travel and president of SPAA, Lee Hunt, owner of Deben Travel, and Phil Nuttall, chief executive of The Travel Village, will explore how true last week’s reports of an explosion in bookings were, if the new government rules have inspired confidence among consumers, and if not, what more can the sector do to convince the public.
From sales to marketing, the seminar will move on to feature a session with tips from PR expert Katie Wright, who leads the travel and tourism practice at Siren Comms, and will offer key advice on how to get important messages about health and safety across without alarming or deterring would-be travellers.
For many in travel though, the real question is what holidays will look like when customers actually arrive in resort. Answering this will be TTG special projects editor Madeleine Barber, live from Gran Canaria who is on an exclusive trip exploring how the holiday experience has changed for travellers.
The seminar will conclude with an interview with Richard Sofer, commercial and business development director UK and Ireland at Tui, as he reveals how the UK’s largest tour operator is ensuring holidays are safe in this post-Covid era and why clients should feel reassured jetting off into the sunshine this summer.
