With Kate Richie, travel trade executive at Birmingham Airport and TTG’s content writer Charlotte Cullinan.
Charlotte: Welcome to our In The Spotlight video with Birmingham Airport, and today we’re going be focusing on the incredible range of Jet2holidays that agents can book from the airport. So Kate, let’s start by talking about the destinations available from Birmingham with Jet2holidays this summer.
Kate: Yes, so the airport is currently having its busiest summer ever. We’ve already seen our busiest June and July on record. And we’re expecting to see this trend continue especially with passengers having a choice of over 60 destinations from Birmingham Airport for summer with Jet2, including five stunning new destinations.
So that is Pula in Croatia, Costa De La Luz, Poros Island, Aegina Island via Athens Airport and Leros Island via Kos airport. Passengers traveling from the airport now have the convenience of being able to travel through security with liquids in containers of up to two litres following the restriction changes, so this just really helps us process passengers quickly and efficiently and gets them on their way to their summer holidays.
Charlotte: Thank you. And summer 2026 is going to be Jet2holiday’s biggest programme ever. So tell us what agents will be able to book from Birmingham Airport.
Kate: So summer of 2026 will be Jet2holidays’ biggest programme ever, with over 230 weekly departures from Birmingham Airport. And that will include destinations across Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Portugal and beyond. So yeah, there’ll be a lot of choice for passengers.
Charlotte: Fantastic, thank you, lots to look forward to there. And there are lots of tools available to help agents promote these destinations to clients aren’t there, could you talk us through some of them?
Kate: So from the Jet2holidays dedicated trade website you can access various tools to help drive bookings. So they have a media library for free marketing assets. There is dedicated trade emails a WhatsApp community for instant updates. And they also have trade social media accounts for exclusive content and giveaways.
We also have airport trade dedicated social accounts and a newsletter. And to sign up to the newsletter agents just need to email travel.trade@birminghamairport.co.uk and we’ll add them to our mailing list so that they can be the first to hear about all the latest from the airport.
Charlotte: Fabulous, lovely. There’s loads of great resources there, thank you. And there’s live training available with Jet2holidays as well, isn’t there?
Kate: So for more live training agents can sign up to The Check-In with the Jet2holidays trade team. And that takes place on the last Thursday of every month, and they have lots of special guests and prizes to be won.
Charlotte: Fabulous. Thank you. And finally, aside from an amazing choice of destinations with Jet2, what else can your trade partners expect from Birmingham Airport?
Kate: So we’ve recently announced our biggest capital investment plan to date, which is £76.5million over the next 12 months. So that means there is a lot of exciting updates happening at the airport.
So we’re really keen to further enhance our passengers airport experience. So the updates include further retail and hospitality offerings alongside a new lounge and terminal refurbishments and loads more.
Charlotte: That’s really exciting, thank you Kate for sharing all of that great information. I’m sure you’ve inspired everyone to get booking Jet2holidays from Birmingham Airport.
Now we’re going to include all of the links to the tools and resources that we’ve spoken about below this video so do check them out. And thank you for watching our In The Spotlight video.
