Jo Richards of Tivoli Travel will sign for her new branch in the village of Lindley, near Huddersfield, in the next few weeks, looking to open its doors to customers in January.
Richards, who began the Tivoli brand in February 2016, launched her first retail store in May 2017, 15 minutes away in the town of Mirfield.
Speaking to TTG at The Global Travel Group conference in Orlando, Richards said the store, a ground floor flat converted into a retail space in the centre of the village, would sell the same type of products as her maiden Mirfield branch.
Tivoli specialises in weddings, golf breaks and family holidays.
The move comes little over a year after Richards’ Mirfield shop was broken into in a burglary last October.
She said the incident had “just made me more driven to succeed and grow the business” and when locals rallied around Tivoli in the wake of it, the shop enjoyed its busiest month on record.
Richards explained she had already hired a staff member to work in the new Lindley store and was interviewing for another next week, bringing her total staff count to six across two shops.
When it opens, Richards will split her time between Lindley and Mirfield, spending around two days a week at the new location.
“I really wanted to have a presence in Huddersfield but didn’t want to be right in the city centre,” she said. “It’s a lovely village with plenty of good independent businesses and we’re the only travel agent.”
Richards said she had identified the Lindley location in September while driving a different route home after a wedding show.
“We’ve done so well since opening and business has been fantastic. I knew we would have a second shop near Huddersfield so it was just a case of ceasing the opportunity when it came about,” she added.
