Tradewind Voyages has confirmed the details of tall ship Golden Horizon’s full Mediterranean debut next summer.
Beginning in Palma on 1 May, there will be 23 voyages on offer across the region, featuring destinations such as Spain, France, Italy, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece and Turkey.
The season will conclude with a 14-night "Canaries to the Caribbean" voyage, which will arrive in Barbados for the start of the line’s winter 2022/2023 season.
Five new collections are available for summer 2022, including the "Spain and France Collection", "The Italian Collection", "The Croatian Collection", "The Greek Collection" and "Passage to Caribbean" voyages. Prices start from £1,799pp for seven and eight night itineraries.
Golden Horizon’s inaugural sailing in the region will be a seven-night round trip from Palma, with the Balearic capital becoming the base for three voyages in May.
It will then operate round trips from Civitavecchia from the end of May to early July, Split in July until mid August, and Piraeus from August to October.
Golden Horizon will then reposition through Palma and Santa Cruz, before heading to the Caribbean.
Voyages on offer include an eight-night sailing from Palma to Rome between 22 and 30 May 2022, which costs £2,049pp, and a round trip from Split between 21-31 July from £2,549pp.
Chief executive of Tradewind Voyages, Alan McGrory, said the line is "thrilled to be back on track" after a "tumultuous past year" for the travel industry.
"Golden Horizon’s design is based on France II, a legendary square-rigged tall ship built in 1913, and is inspired by Tea Clippers and Cape Horners," he added.
"The philosophy is to be powered by nature whenever possible and the intent is to sail, without using propulsion, for around 70% of each season. Sustainability is a core component of the whole experience."
