Co-owners Matt and Ashley Phillips welcomed hundreds of customers and a number of suppliers to the official opening of the agency’s shop on Saturday (26 July).

New starters Stef Hall and Sophia Granger joined Matt and Ashley at the opening, who said the agency’s new recruits would bring "a wealth of travel experience" to the business. Recruitment for an apprentice is also under way.

Guests were treated to Champagne and cakes, provided access to exclusive deals and an opportunity to win a free holiday by way of thanks to everyone who has supported the business over the past three years.

Matt said: "We are so lucky to have such amazing clients, and that support has lead us to opening our first shop, and taking on two full time travel consultants."

He continued: "Between us now we can do it all, cruise, touring, adventure, family, river, city breaks, and more. It’s such an exciting time for us and I can’t wait to see what’s next," added Ashley. 

"This shop opening is a huge milestone for any homeworker moving into the retail space, and the industry has been a fantastic support."

Hall, meanwhile, added: "It’s been so nice to see so many suppliers and BDMs coming in, to deliver training and to show their support of our new shop. We can’t wait for the next three years and beyond. Bring it on."

Matt and Ashley, whose background is in hospitality, joined the travel industry during the pandemic, setting up their Travel Chaps agency with Not Just Travel.
