Five travel companies have received praise from outside the industry for providing happy working environments and inspiration.
Kuoni UK, Hays Travel and Flight Centre UK have been ranked among the Sunday Times Best 100 companies to work for.
Kuoni’s award took account of measures like its summer party and overseas educational programme to name it one of the 100 best companies to work for. It was the third year in a row the company has received the accolade.
Derek Jones, managing director of Kuoni UK, said: “I’m incredibly proud we’ve been listed for the third year running and to be there with 99 other companies across all sectors which are doing some incredible work to engage their people is outstanding.
“It’s an incredibly thorough process from start to finish, with honest and open feedback from staff at all levels influencing the result.
“Every year we’ve learnt from the feedback and acted where we can to add new initiatives which continue to make Kuoni a happy, productive and inspirational place to work.”
Hays Travel was also on the list having come 60th overall after achieving high employee satisfaction and motivation scores.
Managing director John Hays said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been named as one of the Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For in the UK.
“The thing I am most proud of in my career is my team, so I am just thrilled that we are recognised as having a happy and motivated workforce.”
Katie Woods-Ruddick, Hays Travel’s head of HR and training, added: “I am so proud that we have made it into this prestigious list.
“We work really hard to ensure our employees are engaged and highly motivated, which contributes to the success of the company.”
Flight Centre UK climbed six spaces to the 55th spot, winning a place on the list for the 12th year running.
Managing director, Chris Galanty, said: “2016 is set to be a big year of growth for the company, which means more opportunity for employees when it comes to leadership, new locations and promotion.”
Advantage made it to the 1,000-strong Company to Inspire Britain list which targets the fastest-growing and dynamic small and medium-sized businesses.
During the review process the consortium had to demonstrate growth in revenue over the last four years and outperform sector rivals.
Managing director Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “To be recognised in this report which shines a light on some of the UK’s most vibrant companies is indeed an achievement given the transformation of the business over the last few years.
“It reflects the passion and energy in which the team put in to making Advantage the best it can be. It’s only by this collective performance that we have achieved such a prestigious recognition.”
It was joined on the list by Travel Counsellors, which was one of 102 businesses on the list to be given the accolade.
Steve Byrne, managing director at Travel Counsellors, said: “To be named as one of the most inspiring companies in Britain is an achievement that we are extremely proud of. Our business is different and our model works.
“Based around genuinely caring for the customer and going the extra mile, and supported by cutting-edge proprietary technology, Travel Counsellors are able to create authentic, tailor-made travel experiences each and every time.
