Channel Islands-based agency chain Travelmaker has opened a fourth high street shop as a Kuoni partner store.
Travelmaker by Design began trading last month in the Jersey parish of St Helier, and aims to offer customers the chance to “book a luxury holiday in a luxury setting”.
The new store, which has seen a £150,000 investment, specialises in luxury and tailor-made getaways. It takes the number of UK agencies run in partnership with
Kuoni to 10.
Travelmaker head of travel Carl Winn told TTG that since welcoming customers to the newest shop in mid-November, sales “had been flying”.
“We’ve predicted £1.5 million in total sales for the store’s first year, and if the first few weeks are anything to go by we are on track to hit that,” he said.
Travelmaker by Design employs three consultants – Julie Law, Kim Luce and Anne Riant – who each have more than 30 years of industry experience. Winn said the company would continue to invest in its team by sending them on educationals, and added that there was “definitely potential” to increase staff numbers.
Lucy Ellingham, partner area sales manager, Kuoni said: “We jumped at the chance to be involved with the new standalone store. It’s in a location with an ideal target market for us, so we’re excited about the prospect of growing business together.”
Travelmaker, the travel arm of the Channel Islands Co-operative Society, previously saw another of its stores, the Don Street, Jersey branch, earn itself a spot in the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies in both 2016 and 2017.
