Guided touring specialist Travelsphere operated its first overseas holiday following a 20-month hiatus on Thursday (4 November).
It took customers on its "Discover Malta" tour, which offers guests the chance to sample the country’s food, culture, heritage and coastline.
Travellers also visited the Saluting Battery in Valletta, where one of eight replica cannons is fired daily at midday.
Liesa Bissett, Travelsphere’s product and operations director, said Malta was the "perfect tour to get things restarted".
"We are so excited to be sending our Travelsphere customers to Malta, our first overseas holiday for what feels like a very long time," she added.
On 15 November, Travelsphere will take a group of travellers to Jordan on an eight-day "Ancient Wonders" tour, which includes a visit to old and new Amman, a walking tour of Petra, a trip to the dead sea and a tour of the preserved Roman city of Jerash.
"We have a very special experience for our customers in Jordan, on the fifth night we venture out to Wadi Rum and spend the night in Bedouin camp where everyone gets their own Bedouin-style tent, while enjoying an evening of local cuisine and stargazing," added Liesa.
