Charteris, who joined Discover Qatar as Regional Sales Manager in February 2023, confirmed her departure in a post to LinkedIn on Tuesday (24 August) announcing she would be leaving the country to continue her career in the travel industry in the UK.
In the post, she said she would first take some time to "rest and recharge" before starting a new role in September. Charteris moved to Qatar after almost a decade with tailor-made specialist Premier Holidays, whom she represented on the road.

Prior to joining Premier, she worked for Global Travel Group as a Business Development Manager, and previously held roles with Villa Plus, Travel Counsellors and Royal Caribbean International after starting her career in travel with Midlands Co-op.
During her time in Qatar, Charteris led the sales team responsible for inbound travel to the region. She said she was "incredibly proud" of the relationships and business connections she had built, as well as the opportunities to represent Discover Qatar and promote the "incredible destination".
"From luxury hotels to Formula 1, stopovers and some truly unforgettable travel experiences, I've had the privilege of working in a destination and an industry that I love," she said.
She also thanked colleagues and partners at Discover Qatar, Qatar Airways and across the industry, highlighting the "valuable friendships" she had developed during her time in the country.
Charteris added: "But as one chapter closes, another begins next month. I’m excited to be heading back to the UK and continuing my career in travel, with a new challenge, new opportunities and plenty more adventures ahead."
