DTL Travel has leaned into a specialism that is generating the agency hundreds of thousands of pounds in sales – so how can other agents share a piece of the pie? TTG's Dea Jusufi catches up with boss Dave Leyshon to find out how he does it.

When Dave Leyshon set up DTL Travel, he always hoped sport would become a cornerstone of his business.

Seven years on, that aspiration has evolved into bookings worth hundreds of thousands of pounds each year – and Leyshon insists his successes can be replicated by any agency willing to graft.

The business now books between five and six rugby tours a year for local clubs, with bookings typically running to anything from £18,000 and £32,000.

That equates to around £90,000 to £192,000 in annual sales from rugby tours alone, before football groups and other sports business are taken into account.
