C&M Travel Recruitment's latest Recruitment Activity Index charted a 24% month-on-month increase in new vacancies in July, which have risen to their highest level since February. Compared with July 2025, the figure was down by just 1%.
July did see a 9% month-on-month dip in new candidates searching for roles, but total candidate numbers were nonetheless up by nearly a fifth (18%) compared with July 2025.
The only blip was an 8% month-on-month drop in the number of applicants being placed in new travel jobs in July as placements fell by more than 20% versus July 2025.
'Excellent signs'
Barbara Kolosinska, C&M Co-Owner and Managing Director, said: "It's great to see a big increase in the number of new jobs being made available.
"Lots of these roles are very appealing with excellent salaries, so this should lead to more candidates applying for the positions and – hopefully – more placements being made in the coming months."
She added: "We've been saying it for some time now, but we need momentum and consistency in the travel recruitment market and a 24% monthly increase in new vacancies is an excellent sign.
"August is usually one of the very quietest months of the year, but the indications so far suggest this August could be the busiest that we've had in some time."
