The agency, which was named TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies Top Agency in Yorkshire earlier this year, opened on 25 September 2015, and has since gone from strength to strength.
It opened a new branch in Bingley last year, having closed its Barrowford branch in August 2021 owing to the pandemic, and also hosts a burgeoning homeworking division.
Owner and co-founder Gillian Polyhos, who runs the business with Jo Edwards, said the agency resides in a close-knit community, and wanted to bring “a touch of travel magic” to the town with a “heartfelt community celebration”.
The team delighted fellow local businesses with fizz, snacks and soft drinks as they delivered their airline trolley service.
As part of the festivities, the agency also held a raffle to raise money for two local women recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It was warmly supported by the community and raised more than £500, with one lucky winner taking home a Katie Loxton overnight bag.
“It was such a lovely day,” said Polyhos, adding that the celebratory Friday ended up being very busy for bookings. “Lots of customers came in to support us – we had advertised the party on our social media.
“We were so busy with bookings I didn’t actually make it out with the trolley myself! But the girls had a great time.”
As well as its 2025 win, Olive Lounge Travel was named Yorkshire’s top agency in 2019, and also made the Top 50 in 2020 and again in 2023.
