The group has signed a management contract for a new-build project in Melbourne, Australia’s second most populous city.
Set to open in 2023, the 196-room Mandarin Oriental, Melbourne will also have 148 managed residences attached and will be located on the city’s Collins Street in the Central Business District.
The mixed-use 185-metre tower was designed by the late architect, Dame Zaha Hadid and is set to become a landmark for the city.
The project is being developed by Melbourne-based property developer, Landream and is close to the Docklands and the Southbank tourist and entertainment precinct.
Dining at the hotel will include an all-day restaurant and a bar with a landscaped roof terrace, while the hotel will also have a spa and indoor pool.
