The acquisition, Adore Holidays’ second in the space of two months, was overseen by Hays IG boss Harriet Thompson, who identified alignment between the Essex-based agency and OTG’s portfolio.
The deal includes ski and cruise specialists – Get Skiing and Get Cruising – as well as luxury agency Hot Holidays and travel reviews platform Holiday Truths.
“We actively encourage growth and innovation within the Independence Group, and it’s great to see our member Adore Holidays expanding their operations by acquiring the well-known brands OTG has under its belt," said Thompson.
"It’s been an exciting 12 months for the Adore Holidays team, and we look forward to seeing what the next 12 months and beyond have in store for them.”
As part of the deal, Adore Holidays will gain control of the brands’ websites and social media, assuring the continuity of existing bookings.
“Acquiring the OTG brands is a natural fit with our growth strategy,” said Ian Gilder, the agency’s managing director.
“Their customer base is well-aligned with our tailor-made cruise offering, and we’re confident in the potential to breathe new life into these respected names, particularly after a period of limited activity following the pandemic.”
Gilder also hinted at the opening of a third retail store and as well as a number of other “promising projects in the pipeline”.
In March, he announced that Adore Holidays’ second high street branch would open in Yorkshire, almost 200 miles north of his original shop in Epping, Essex.
