The Advantage Travel Partnership is to launch a programme of guidance helping members to “plan, adjust and adapt” their shops and offices ready for reopening.
A series of “practical tools”, such as health and safety guideline checklists and information about sourcing protective equipment, will be sent out soon.
Advantage said it was tailoring government information for members on topics including cleaning and hygiene and recommendations around spacing within offices and retail units.
Earlier today (22 May) Advantage chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said discussed how members were preparing to return to the high street, telling TTG’s Business Support Live there were "no prizes for opening first".
Advantage will also be creating a bank of assets for members to use and assist with social distancing policies within their offices and retail units and also offer suggestions for a protective equipment suppliers.
“We know that our members are eager to get their businesses back up and running as soon as it is safe for them to do so. We also appreciate that the world we now find ourselves in is so far removed from what we once knew," Lo Bue-Said added.
"There is no prize for opening first, and it is important members plan correctly to ensure they can give their clients confidence to enter their shops and premises.
"The support we’re giving members with guidance, creating assets, and procuring equipment, will provide an additional layer of reassurance, to allow them to plan accordingly for their office and retail unit reopening."
