Jo Rzymowska, managing director UK and Ireland and Asia Pacific, said that despite the logistical difficulties of taking travel consultants to the Caribbean, where Edge will sail two itineraries from December 2018, the British trade would play a “crucial role” in helping make the vessel a success.
Rzymowska told TTG: “We took agent partners out to Miami [for the first Edge reveal in March] and we’ve got them coming here for this reveal and we will be taking agent partners out to the launch [of Edge] when we go to Miami next year as well, but the exact numbers we’re still finalising.
“It’s difficult [to get agents] to the Caribbean as it’s further afield, but we are going to be doing all that we can to make sure we give agents the opportunity to get onboard through our Celebrity Rewards programme and through competitions.”
Meanwhile, Rzymowska said Eden would be a “key area” of Edge and “very much about combining incredible entertainment with fabulous cuisine”.
Claire Stirrup, director of sales UK and Ireland, added that Eden would form “a main topic of conversation” for Celebrity’s on the road sales team with agents over the coming weeks.
“We really want to take the trade with us on this Edge journey and my aim is to get as many trade partners onboard Celebrity Edge as we can over the next few years,” she said.
