The new document comes in response to staffing concerns following the pandemic after the global travel and tourism market lost around 62 million jobs in 2020.
While many travel management companies (TMCs) are now approaching desired staffing levels, the brochure tackles misconceptions associated with business travel, promoting the flexibility of careers in TMCs and offering guidance on how to launch a career in the industry.
Clive Wratten, chief executive of the BTA, said: "It is important to highlight that there is no correct way to start a career in travel. The pressure to have the necessary experience or education is a common misunderstanding, and we want to change that.
"Although a degree or a qualification is a great bonus, transferable skills from various disciplines and a passion for travel really are the only tools you need."
The brochure includes a range of contributions from TMCs across the business travel industry, including ATPI, Clarity BT, Agiito and TAG, as well as training provider Damar Training.
