Clia UK and Ireland has announced a series of luxury and expedition cruise showcase events this October, heading to three UK cities over three days.

The events will start in Belfast on October 8 before heading to Manchester on October 9, and winding up in Norwich on October 10.

This year, the events will be split into two parts, the first section aiming to help agents meet representatives from luxury and expedition cruise lines face-to-face. In addition, there will be a panel discussion with insight from industry experts.

Andy Harmer, director of Clia UK and Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to announce for the first time this year, along with speed training, our luxury and expedition showcase events will include an expert panel discussion.

“Over recent years, we have seen a significant increase of interest in luxury and expedition cruises, so it is important travel agents feel knowledgeable and confident when selling these types of cruises.

“The panel discussion will give agents a deeper insight into luxury cruises and expedition cruises, how they differ from other cruise holidays, the guest experience and how to attract the right customers.”

Clia will also host its first-ever expedition cruise forum on March 28. The event in London will bring together travel agents and expedition cruise lines to update them on new products and developments.

Guests will include marine biologist and broadcaster Monty Halls and expedition cruise expert Robin West. There will also be trend talks and presentations and other events to help travel agents grow their expedition cruise business.
