Currie, who has worked for 14 years across a number of roles supporting dnata’s B2B businesses, will join Yalago from 1 March.
Based in Glasgow, Currie will be responsible for growing Yalago "as the accommodation feed of choice within the UK trade", said dnata, while also expanding the brand into the Scandinavian market.
He will report to Yalago’s general manager Astrid Kastberg.
Since its launch in 2017, dnata said the accommodation distributor had “experienced double-digit annual growth” and was now “expanding worldwide” with a focus on retail, starting in the UK.
Karen Fletcher, dnata’s B2B trade partnerships director thanked Currie for his “professionalism and enthusiasm”, which she said had been “critical in helping us to build and maintain excellent relationships with our agent partners across the UK”.
“This is a great opportunity for Colin, and we all wish him lots of success. I know he’ll be missed by everyone here,” said Fletcher, adding: “Our trade partnership team is rightly regarded as one of the best in the industry by the people who matter most to us – travel agents – and we look forward to deepening our valued relationships with them as travel continues its return.”
Kastberg added: “We’re excited to be bringing someone with Colin’s knowledge and expertise into the Yalago team as we accelerate our growth journey.
“He’s highly respected across the UK travel industry, and I’m really looking forward to seeing him apply the energy that’s driven such a successful career with dnata Travel Group’s B2B brands in the UK to Yalago as we bring more and more clients on to the platform and expand globally.”
