The OTA is under the new ownership and management of Teletext Travel Ltd, trading as teletextholidays.co.uk. The resurrected brand acquired the intellectual property from liquidators of Teletext Ltd.
It said: “As an independent entity, we want to clarify that we have no affiliations with the previously known Teletext Ltd or Truly Travel Ltd, both of which have since been placed into liquidation.”
However, the brand said it had “several experienced team members from the previous company remaining on board”. It declined to give further details to TTG.
The new company offers mainstream beach destinations in Europe, as well as but the Maldives, UAE and Sri Lanka. It acts as an agent for the brands it deals with, meaning packages are protected under the operator’s Atol.
“Over the past 18 months, the team has worked diligently to rebuild and strengthen internal operations, revamp the customer experience and launch a fully redesigned website aimed at delivering greater value and convenience," said Teletext.
“This is more than a relaunch — it’s a revival of a much-loved brand. We’ve spent the past year-and-a-half making sure every part of the business is stronger, smarter, and more focused on delivering amazing value for travellers.”
Teletext Ltd was the subject of a 2022 High Court ruling and Competition and Markets Authority investigation after it failed to refund customers during the pandemic within 14 days. The brand eventually paid out £7 million via the Travel Trust Association.
