A fifth of Irish consumers will have booked their 2024 holiday by the end of this year – with 77% of those yet to book planning to by March, according to a new survey.
The research of more than 1,300 people by Irish online travel agent Click&Go, claimed more than half of that 77% would book in January and only 11% are likely to book closer to their departure date.
The most popular travel period for respondents yet to book revealed a shift from July and August to May and June.
The survey found 23% will travel between January and March, 40% from April to June, 30% July to September and 11% from October to December.
Asked which type of holiday they would be choosing, 70% of respondents yet to book plan to go on a “sun holiday”, 12% on a cruise, 7% on a city break, 5% on a holiday to the US and 2% on a trip to Disneyland Paris.
