On Monday (15 January), phone enquiries were up 17% compared with the same day last year. Overall, total call volumes are up by 22% since the start of peaks.
New York, Dubai and Florida have so far proved to be Gold Medal’s top-selling destinations, but destinations like Thailand are also commanding significant interest from clients.
“Last year’s peaks period was really successful for us, so this year-on-year growth is phenomenal,” said Gold Medal managing director Simon Applebaum on Friday (19 January). “Our sales centre colleagues are handling the demand and continue to provide the highest levels of service.”
It comes as the long-haul operator has reported a surge in bookings over peaks, recording its highest growth in web bookings on Sunshine Saturday (6 January) and then again on Tuesday (16 January).
