Hotel chain Ibis has completed the first trial of its “social media sitter” service, which is called Relax, We Post.
The service, which starts from around 90 Swiss francs (£70), partners guests with an influencer to manage their social media output for them.
Launched initially at its hotels in Geneva and Zurich, the trial, which ended on Sunday (December 2), is similar to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s “Instagram butler” service.
The aim, says Ibis, is to ensure guests don’t live important moments through their smartphones, while capturing them in the moment.
Ibis, part of the AccorHotels group, laid on a number of Instagram celebrities for the trial, including Sara Leutenegger from Germany’s Next Top Model, lifestyle blogger Cristina Gheiceani and Zurich DJ Sylwina, The Times reports.
Guests can curate the service as they please by briefing their helpers on what sort of images and aesthetic they would like.
Ibis is yet to announce whether it will further trial the service and/or launch it formally.
