Jet2 has pushed its summer commitment to Turkey past two million passengers with the addition of more seats from key airports.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added more than 25,000 extra seats to Antalya and Dalaman for summer 2023. The two brands claim they will now have two million seats to Turkey on sale this summer, with up to 186 weekly flights from 10 UK airports.
The additions mean the brand has committed a large proportion of its 5.3 million licensed capacity to the country.
The collapse of the Turkish lira against sterling has heightened Turkey’s popularity, with £1 now buying 23 lira compared with 18 a year ago.
The extra shoulder season services are available between March and June from Belfast International, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Stansted. All will offer additional Antalya services, with Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and Stansted also having extra Dalaman flights.
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said: “We are experiencing strong demand from customers looking to enjoy some early Turkish sun and take advantage of the fantastic value the destination offers.
“As always, we have been quick to respond by adding extra capacity to Antalya and Dalaman from seven of our UK bases. This expansion further strengthens our commitment to the destination and comes as a result of us working with our industry and hotel partners in Turkey.”
