Jet2holidays has detailed a wide-ranging programme to support independent agents’ turn-of-year sales, including a trade exclusive booking promotion and opportunity to win a celebrity meet and greet.
Independent agents can offer clients £110pp off all package holiday bookings made until 1 March for travel between 6 January 2021 and 6 November 2022; the promotion applies to all Jet2holidays, Jet2CityBreaks, Jet2Villas, Indulgent Escapes and Vibe by Jet2holidays bookings.
The operator’s long-standing Partnership 2 Success trade engagement programme for independent agents has also been bolstered ahead of peaks, with the addition this year of a new Jet2holidays celebrity "Come Book With Me" incentive.
Four celebrities have teamed up with Jet2holidays for the initiative, who will star in a series of messages posted to the operator’s social media channels highlighting the benefits of booking with an independent agent.
Agents who "like" these posts and comment with their Abta number will be in with a chance of winning a personalised message recorded by one of the celebs they can use on their own social media profiles.
Additionally, winning agents and/or agencies will also get to take part in a virtual meet and greet with the star.
Come Book With Me will run until April; the first winner was Northwich’s HD Travel, who received a message from X Factor favourite Chico.
Westlife’s Brian McFadden will be the next celebrity to take part, with entries open now.
Jet2holidays’ trade sales team is also continuing to offer its virtual agency visits and key account meetings; its virtual knowledge training sessions; and its new virtual holiday shows, which serve as destination showcases for clients.
Meanwhile, the operator’s national advertising campaigns on TV and radio continue to feature a call out urging holidaymakers to visit their local independent travel agent to book their next trip, while the Jet2holidays direct-sell website features a tool to help prospective customers find their local independent.
Alan Cross, Jet2holidays head of trade sales, said: his team had spent a lot of time listening to what agents want from the operator.
"We know they want to drive awareness and engagement, including via social media," said Cross. "That’s why we are giving agents the chance to add a bit of showbiz to their social media profiles.
"We know Jet2holidays Celebrity Come Book With Me is already a big hit with independent travel agents."
On Jet2holidays’ day-to-day work with agents, Cross said he was delighted by the level of engagement with the operator’s Partnership 2 Success programme.
"Our honest and transparent relationships with independent travel agents are more important than ever, and they are enabling us to really build on the work we have done to look after them during the pandemic," said Cross.
"As well as helping to raise the profile of independent travel agents on a national level, speaking to agents day in day out helps us work on a micro-level with them, meaning we can provide tailored support for each agent no matter their requirement is."
