The tour operator, which announced the initial eight winning agencies from Scale Up Your Street last month, said the 11 successful travel agencies had received a total of more than £100,000 to pay for their retail expansion.
The Good Travel Company, Buckley Travel and Sunlounger Travel made their successful pitches to the panel of judges this week, which comprised Jet2holidays’ Alan Cross and Lloyd Cross, as well as Nicola Park from Seaside Travel and Don Bircham, franchise owner of Hays Travel Mold.
Alan Cross, who is director of travel agent relationships at Jet2holidays, said the campaign had been a “phenomenal success”. “We have been genuinely inspired by the passion, creativity and commitment shown by agency partners and homeworkers,” hesaid.
“As a result of this innovative new campaign, Jet2holidays has invested over £100,000 into independent travel agents and homeworkers to help them open a new retail store, which is a true demonstration of our commitment to them.
“We are incredibly excited about watching our partners succeed and will be supporting them fully as they open their new stores.”
The previously announced eight winners who received almost £80,000 between them were Best Destination, Beverley Travel, Cotton Travel, Craig Travel, Go Ben Ltd, Halstead Travel, Idle Travel and Perfect Getaways.
As well as receiving the financial support from Jet2holidays, the winning agencies benefit from tailored training and marketing to help them to open their new stores and “drive footfall”.
