The carrier is recruiting for around 150 air crew roles – approximately 100 cabin crew and 50 pilots – who will start on a rolling basis over the coming months as they undergo their training.
They will become the first new members of Norwegian air crew to be based in Helsinki since April 2020. Norwegian said it had received almost 2,000 applications for the available roles.
Routes include a six-times-weekly Gatwick service (daily, excluding Saturdays), as well as flights to Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy, France and Bulgaria, among others.
"With the 150 new people in Helsinki, we confirm yet again that we are back in Finland," said Norwegian chief executive Geir Karlsen. "I know all of them are looking forward to welcoming our passengers."
Norwegian restarted 14 Helsinki routes this month, including domestic flights to Oulu and Rovaniemi. This will almost double to 27 by peak summer, the airline said on Thursday (24 March).
Other Norwegian bases to have reopened following a wholesale restructure, which saw Norwegian end its low-cost long-haul flights, include Copenhagen, Stockholm, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim.
The summer schedule sees Norwegian return to Gatwick where, in January 2021, it mothballed its European long-haul operation resulting in around 1,000 redundancies.
