Specialist cruise agency Panache Cruises has formed an LGBT+ advocacy group to “ensure diversity and inclusion sits at the heart of business”.
The group will be made up of five self-nominated members of the Panache team and led by founder and managing director James Cole.
The team will be tasked with championing equality and diversity across the business, providing training to the wider Panache team on how to deliver exceptional service to LGBT+ clients and developing ways of marketing to the LGBT+ community.
A resource guide on better understanding the LGBT+ community and the needs of LGBT+ travellers has also been created and circulated to staff.
Panache said the group will “continually” look at all company processes, including job applications and employee benefits to ensure it is supporting everyone within its business and wider partners.
“Over the last three years since we have been trading, how we develop our internal culture has been of paramount importance to me,” said Cole. “We know our success both now and, in the future, will come as a result of us operating as a people-centred business, and we are committed to ensuring that all our colleagues feel free and able to bring their whole selves to work, however they express themselves or identify.”
From learning which destinations to recommend to same-sex couples and transgender travellers, to identifying how best to support LGBT+ families booking holidays, this latest online seminar will bust the myths and misconceptions, highlight the destinations marketing themselves to LGBT+ people and offer key tips and advice on how to sell and market to this all-important sector.
