Former senior manager of sales and admin EMEA at Royal Caribbean, Carla Hines, has joined Hurtigruten Norway as the brand’s new sales lead for emerging markets.
Based out of the UK, Hines joins the expedition line after spending more than six years at Royal Caribbean.
The new appointment follows a renewed trade focus by Hurtigruten across both its expedition and coastal express businesses, as it looks to become more independent in its operations.
Confirming the move exclusively to TTG, Hines said: "I’m delighted to be joining Hurtigruten Norway in this new role, and joining a company with such an incredible sailing heritage on the Norwegian coast.
"You couldn’t ask for a better story to tell, and I’m looking forward to working with the team as we expand our focus on emerging markets."
Hines’ appointment comes after P&O Cruises vice-president of sales, distribution and marketing, Alex Delamere-White, joined Hurtigruten as interim chief commercial officer for its expeditions division following the departure of Steven Taylor.
Prior to that, former P&O Cruises director of sales and e-commerce Nathaniel Sherborne returned to travel as vice-president of sales and marketing UK and Nordics for Hurtigruten Expeditions.
Anthony Daniels, recently promoted vice-president sales and marketing at Hurtigruten, added: "As we become more independent in our business operations, it’s the perfect time to have someone with Carla’s talent and experience join us.
"Her track record speaks for itself, and with so many incredible projects – such as our recently announced zero emission ship plans – already in full swing, I know that she’s going to be an invaluable support to ensuring our future success."
