The cross-party committee of MPs, chaired by Iain Stewart, said it wanted to assess the impact “new and disruptive technologies and trends” could have on the industry.
Members want “experts, researchers and innovative thinkers” to share their views on what areas of government transport policy it should be scrutinising.
The committee wants to hear, in particular, about “subjects they may have never come across before” – and from those in the sector working on innovations “that deserve more attention”.
In a turn of year interview with TTG, the committee’s new chair Stewart said he was keen to do more "horizon-scanning" and for the committee to build a reputation for "constructive scrutiny".
Submissions for 500-word proposals are open until midday on 6 February; a shortlist will be drawn up, with their authors set to be invited to present them during a committee hearing.
