TMT chief executive Simon Morgan said establishing a presence in Scotland was a logical step for the business, which has rapidly expanded across South Wales over the past three years – including through the acquisition of Regal Travel in 2018.
He added dnata Travel Group’s proposal to focus on its Gold Medal brand and mothball its Glasgow-based Travel 2 brand had sped up Tailor Made Travel’s decision to expand into Scotland, anticipating opportunities to "acquire some great people".
"We already have a significant Scottish following and regularly book clientele," said Morgan. "Having a presence in Scotland is a natural progression for our business.
"We will focus initially on telesales while forming a suitable team. Our existing staff will assist with bookings and enquiries while the team is built.
"We anticipate there may well be some opportunities to acquire some great people with the recent Travel 2 announcements; this has undoubtedly expedited our plans."
