Cook said the app would allow users to book dynamic packages in a single transaction, providing access to "hundreds of airlines and tens of thousands of hotels worldwide".
All trips are covered by the OTA’s Atol and insured by Abta. Cook is licensed to carry 215,060 Atol-protected passengers in the year to September 2025.
After Cook collapsed in September 2019, the brand was acquired by China’s Fosun Travel Group, which relaunched Cook as an OTA. It was subsequently bought by Poland’s eSky Group in September 2024 and approved a month later by the CAA.
It is launching the app in the UK with a "lowest price guarantee" on packages, which it claims will provide "the best deal available on the market at any given time".
Alan French, chief holidays officer at eSky and Cook, said the aim was to deliver a "one-stop service" from the booking process to the holiday experience, including acting as a "personal guide" and source of inspiration.
"We wanted users to be able to comfortably and quickly plan their trips here and now, in one place," said French. "With the introduction of the app, we offer a one-stop service: from flights to accommodation to support during the holiday."
Speaking to TTG following the acquisition, French said eSky had ambitions to grow Thomas Cook into a brand capable of making "a material difference" to Europe’s holiday market, adding the group brought more than 20 years’ experience in flying and hotel sourcing.
French claimed the app launch coincided with a "global trend" towards bookings being made via mobile. "The share of the mobile channel in sales is increasing," he continued, albeit while stressing Cook and eSky would continue to offer multiple booking channels.
However, he added: "We see that smartphones are the future. Our Thomas Cook app is becoming not only a tool for purchasing entire tours, but also a personal guide that inspires travel in a simple way."
Developed in-house at eSky for iOS and Android, the app allows users to search holiday dates flexibly via their preferred period or duration, and offers a range of payment methods, including mobile payment services like Google Pay and Apple Pay.
