May saw the second-highest sales week ever for the agency’s corporate travel specialists with a record £4.5 million business travel sales – only the second time sales have exceeded £4 million this year.
The firm’s corporate sales currently sit at 154% for May compared the same point in 2019, outperforming recent predictions by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) which forecast annual business travel spend would not surpass pre-pandemic levels until the end of 2024.
The homeworking agency also claimed long-haul business travel is "definitely back on the agenda" after the UK lost its top spot as its leading business travel destination to the USA.
Kieran Hartwell, managing director, corporate at Travel Counsellors, said: "To be outperforming the market at a time when there are so many variables is, of course, great news for us. Our customers remained loyal to us during the pandemic; they know that we provide the highest level of customer service whilst fulfilling all their requirements."
In addition to retaining business, Travel Counsellors continues to grow its corporate travel client base for 2022, to date already gaining 13% more new clients compared with the same period in 2019.
