With a 29% increase on September 2022, October 2022’s figure was up 34% from last October and was the highest number recorded since July 2021.
However, the figure was marginally below previous Octobers, with a dip of 2% from October 2019, 5% from October 2018 and 8% from October 2017.
Meanwhile, travel job placements rose by 18% from the previous month and by 56% compared to October 2021.
October 2022 was up by 24% from October 2019, up by 1% from October 2018 and down by 5% from October 2017.
Last month also saw the second highest number of new travel job vacancies in the past five months, despite a 4% fall from September.
Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: "With a shortage of quality candidates affecting all industries at the moment, it’s very encouraging to see a big increase in jobseekers in the travel industry last month.
"This was the highest monthly total since July 2021 and the second highest since autumn 2019, so this increase in candidates should come as welcome news to us all as we try to encourage and incentivise new talent to work in travel."
