It added: “Our traditional short- and medium-haul offering to Greece, Turkey, the Canaries and the Balearics continues to prove popular with our customers, with all key destinations benefiting from higher demand against summer 2022.
“We have seen strong demand in the final weeks of the summer season, which traditionally runs to the end of October. As a consequence, we recently announced the extension of the season into November in particular to Turkey and Greece, to cover demand outside the traditional summer season.”
Looking ahead, Tui said winter bookings across all markets were also healthy, with 2023/4 sales up 15% on 2022/23 and with prices up 4%.
It added: “Supported by the current booking trends and strong customer demand, we have expanded our winter programme by 11% against winter 2022/23. This is in particular the case in the UK and is enhanced by our increased dynamic product offering, providing more flexibility and choice for our customers.”
Tui said winter 2023/24 overall was 29% sold. It added the UK was “traditionally our most advanced booked market” with 38% of the season sold to date.
“In the UK, volumes are +8% overall and +15% in the last four weeks against winter 2022/23, underlining the positive momentum which we are seeing across our key markets,” said the airline and operator.
This was supported by selling prices 3% ahead of winter 2022/23.
In cruise, cabin occupancy in the July-September period was up nine points, although the actual figure was undisclosed. Average daily rates were up 11%.
Tui will reveal full-year results on 6 December.
