Virgin Voyages has launched a new e-learning platform for trade partners.
The line’s Seacademy will serve as a “one-stop-shop” resource tool and its creation follows a recent announcement by the brand to raise agent commission to 16%.
Seacademy will allow agents, which Virgin Voyages calls First Mates, to learn at their own pace while gaining increased product knowledge and access to perks.
Shane Riley, associate vice-president of international sales, said: "We already have an extensive First Mates learning programme, including face-to-face meetings, Facebook Lives, webinars and more.
"The development of our e-learning platform is in direct response to requests from our First Mate partners, offering them a meaningful format to learn at their own pace with clear bite-sized modules.
"We conducted a survey, and 96% of First Mates told us an e-learning platform would be a valuable addition."
Seacademy will feature four learning levels – ranging from Violet to Gold – and is designed to build agents’ confidence and knowledge in different areas of the brand.
The line said each level will come with its own unique reward to encourage agents to complete it.
Benefits include access to upcoming pre-inaugural events, bonus commission vouchers, access to agent rates and Sailor Loot [onboard credit] to spend on their own future sailing.
Violet tier is available now on FirstMates.com.
Agents who complete the training by 31 January will receive an invite to a sail onboard either Scarlet Lady – scheduled to launch next May – or the line’s second ship Valiant Lady, arriving in November 2021.
