Tens of thousands people queued for hours this week to secure a first release ticket to view the Bayeux Tapestry later this year, with many being disappointed.
The Bayeux Tapestry's landmark exhibition at London's British Museum offers the rare opportunity to come face to face with one of the defining events in British history.
On loan from Bayeux, France, this remarkable 230-foot-long embroidered masterpiece was created in the 11th century and vividly chronicles the events leading up to the Norman Conquest. Beginning with the reign of Edward the Confessor and culminating in the Battle of Hastings in 1066, it offers a unique window into a defining moment in British history.
Zoe Tasker, Group Product Director commented “The remarkable Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at the British Museum is set to be one of the hottest tickets of the year. We are delighted to have been able to secure places, but agents will need to move quickly as we expect an unprecedented level of demand for these breaks.”
Just Go! Holidays are offering a two-day break combining guaranteed tickets to the exhibition with free time for shopping or sightseeing in London. Departing on 14 or 21 November, 5 or 12 December, the trip costs £219 per person including return coach travel from local pick-up points around the country, overnight accommodation with breakfast, plus free time in London.
