Andrew, why should agents turn to Norse for their clients’ trips?
At Norse we see ourselves as pioneering, like the innovative spirit that defined Viking explorers. We aim to provide affordable, long-haul fares to more people from London Gatwick on our Dreamliner 787 aircraft, allowing more people to fly long-haul for less without compromising on product or service. This allows agents to offer a lower price point for family package holidays, which will accelerate sales and agent commissions.
Where does Norse fly?
We have some great routes, a number of them seasonal. At the moment we are providing great fares whether you want to travel west to the States, east to Asia or south to Africa, flying from our base in the UK, London Gatwick. This coming summer, we will fly during the peak months daily from London Gatwick to New York and Orlando.
In the winter we will shift our focus and provide passengers the opportunity to visit the sun in Cape Town, where services start from 9 September and operate five times per week. From 25 October we will operate east to Bangkok, also with five weekly flights. All departing from London Gatwick.
Our fares start from £324 to New York, £339 to Orlando, £453 to Bangkok and £487 to Cape Town.
Can you tell us about your two cabins?
Economy
Our Economy cabin offers great value and is tailored to meet passengers' needs. All fares sold in the GDS are Economy Classic and come with a main meal as well as a personal item, a 10kg carry-on bag and a 23kg bag in the hold. Every seat has an IFE screen with some great entertainment, as well as a power outlet and a USB charger. Passengers can pre-order additional meals, as well as order hot and cold food from our pioneering new Marketplace service, allowing customers to order in-flight food and beverages from the comfort of their personal entertainment screen.
Premium
Our Premium cabin offers the largest seat in its class flown by any airline worldwide. It’s actually similar to an old-school business class seat, with a 43-inch seat pitch – compared to other airlines with a 38-inch pitch in Premium Economy, therefore offering a greater recline, superior leg support and a wider seat. The Premium cabin has dedicated crew, complimentary meals, soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as an amenity kit with the fluffiest blanket I’ve seen on a plane!
Which client types should agents be promoting Norse to?
Any client who wants a great product at a great price. We recognise that travel and holidays are expensive these days, and with the business model that we operate we are able to provide great value fares and provide choice for customers, so they only pay for what they want to.
How can agents book with Norse?
Agents can book Norse in the GDS – we are in the GDS under codeshare agreements with APG operating under airline code A1 and Hahnair, airline code X1. Net fares including seat-only, and tour operator fares are widely available from tour operators and consolidators. The tour operator fares have a delayed ticket issuance deadline of 60 days before departure, therefore allowing delayed payment, which we know agents and passengers love.
Norse was founded in 2021, tell us more…
Yes, Norse was founded at the height of Covid when the industry was rock bottom. Our founder Bjørn Tore Larsen bought the long-term leases on 15 Dreamliner 787 aircraft at very low prices – many of these were new planes that were due to be delivered to another airline. This proved a very astute business move as there is now a lack of long-haul planes and you would today pay far more for each lease. This allows is to operate the business model that we do, and offer such great affordable fares to our customers so they can fly long-haul for less.
